Honor Dad with
Father’s Day Introductions…
What better way to honor dad on Father’s Day Weekend than to include him in the walk-up introductions. Let him choose the walk-up song for his son or daughter. Let him voice the intros. Or include Dad’s name in the introductions.
Each of these ideas include instructions on duplicating the team. By duplicating the team, you can then do your edits on the duplicate team and leave your existing/master/original team undisturbed.
Dad Chooses Music. Just open your existing team, and choose Actions > Duplicate Team. Give the duplicate team a subtitle of “Father’s Day” or “Dad Music”. Now you can open the duplicate Father’s Day team and edit the music to whatever dad wants without impacting the original/master team in any way. Of course you’ll need to reach out to the dads and ask them to select a song. They’ll love it! …And the kids will love mixing things up too while honoring dad in the process.
Now Batting, My Son, Tommy Johnson. Go Tommy! You might even consider letting the dads voice their kids intros on your duplicate team “Now Batting, My Son, Tommy Johnson. Go Tommy!”. That will take a little more preparation but would be a nice touch. And again, as long as you are doing all this on a duplicate team, it will not impact anything on your original team.
Now Batting, #28 Madden Riley, Son of Robert Riley. And if you want to go all out, you can create/order professional intros that include dad “Now Batting, #28 Madden Riley, Son of Robert Riley” (or “Daughter of”). This video will demonstrate the process.
To do so….
Create a new team which you can just title “Dads” or “Gladiator Dads” or whatever. Add the dads names to this team (no numbers). To make that process easier, you might just duplicate your master/Now Batting team, then open the duplicate and edit replace the kids names with dads names (and remove the numbers). If you have a SuperVoice team, then duplicate then you would duplicate the blue team.
Then, order pro-voicing on this team, choosing the same announcer you chose for the players intros, and a standard order type. Choose the format of just first and last name (NO number and NO Now Batting), and in Special Instructions, let the announcer you want them all to be voiced as “Son of Robert Riley”.
Once you get that back, open your Now Batting team (or gold team if you have SuperVoice), and choose Actions > Duplicate Team and give that team a subtitle of “Dads Day” or whatever.
Now, edit the first player, and Edit the voice, and turn on SuperVoice. Click Add Players and then navigate to your Dads team and choose the appropriate dad. Adjust the order of the components so that the player is first. And then adjust the overlap.
Repeat with the remaining players.
